Description
This Course explains how every packet of information that goes out onto the Internet has information added to it by the Internet Protocol (IP). The information in the IP Header allows IP to perform all the functions defined by the protocol. This course identifies those functions and defines the purpose of each of the fields, or pieces of information, that is included in the IP Header for IP version 4 and also for IP version 6. The Course also describes the difference between connectionless and connection-oriented protocols, and the advantages IP gains as a connectionless protocol.
