Description
A convergence is clearly taking hold in the communications marketplace, and this convergence is taking place at several different levels. In this etopic we will first examine communication convergence from the user perspective, looking at users' desires across both the consumer marketplace and the enterprise marketplace. Then we will explore a three tiered model of convergence that examines convergence at the network layer where all media moves to Internet Protocol transport, convergence at the control layer which enables a unified approach to media and service control, and finally convergence at the service layer which ultimately leads to the introduction of new converged services into the dynamic communications landscape.
